Simple considered care and knowledge of how to treat your fabric will assist should the time arise for extra product care. Below you will find our notes as a guide to assist on a range of product care options. 

 

 

Small New Liquid Spills

Liquid spills should always be blotted up immediately with a white cotton towel, paper towel or cloth to draw up the liquid as quickly as possible. Simply pace the towel or cloth on top of the spill and starting from the outside of the spill apply pressure to soak up the liquid and draw it out of the fabric. Never rub a wet liquid stain. It will most likely cause colour fading and fabric damage and make the stain more noticeable. Repeat this step until clean. If a stain is still evident, apply a small amount of lukewarm water and draw it out using the same method. For woollen products try using a small amount of wool detergent mixed with water doesn't work.  Make sure all the detergent is then removed from the wool. If the stain can’t be removed using these methods, seek professional dry cleaning advice.

Small Dry Stains

Mix a small amount of wall mix with lukewarm water and apply it to the stain and leave it for 5 mins. Next use a white cotton towel, paper towel or cloth to draw up the liquid starting from the outside in blotting not rubbing until all of the liquid and the stain is removed. Repeat until the stain is removed. If the stain can't be removed using this method seek professional dry cleaning advice. 

 

Larger Spills or Stains

For larger spills or stains on cushions covers most covers can be removed and hand washed in lukewarm water with a small amount of wool mix however please check our website for each times specific care instructions. Some cushions should only be professionally dry cleaned. Do not wring water out of your simply squeeze water out or place it on a gentle spin cycle in your washing machine.

Treatments

We do not recommend the application of stain preventative treatments. This can potentially lock in a liquid stain and make it very difficult to remove, even professionally. Wool contains lanolin, nature’s own stain repellent.

Loose Threads & Shedding 

You may notice some shedding on some of your cushions on some occasions. This is particularly noticeable with wool cushions. Just like a woollen rug wool can shed from rubbing and not a quality or design flaw. You also may notice some loose threads which is considered normal with hand-woven textiles, we recommend carefully pushing the thread back into the weave using a blunt, pointed instrument. If the thread is long and does not continue back into the weave using a knitting needle or pin.
